Other Book on the day
Guided tours of seven eco-homes which demonstrates sustainable building design and zero/low carbon technologies. The homes are all used for research purposes by the University of Nottingham but some are also lived in as real homes. The project aims to stimulate sustainable design ideas and promote new ways of providing affordable, environmentally sustainable housing that are innovative in their design. There will be the opportunity to take part in interactive energy demonstrations.
One home is a replica 1930’s house, subsequently updated to show how retrofit measures can improve a home’s energy efficiency (pictured). Another aims to be as eco-friendly as possible, but also affordable. A third reflects an aim to build an energy efficient masonry home that can be mass produced. You will be able to go inside some of the houses and observe others from the outside.
